Our theme is to stay healthy!
Wow, amazing that so many people came this time!
Games and Shamita:
-we have 8 stations: Stay Well!, Singing Songs (will handout the lyrics), Cup-Spreading of Germs (AIDS and personal survival activity), GloGerms (blacklight), Germ Prevention Video, FlooPowder (recipe for smoothies), Soap Making, Handwashing in the sink (perhaps a fake sink, sing Twinkle Twinkle so they know how long to sing)
-We need to make posters for each station
-the cost should be about $250-$300
-Timeline: Shamita will get the video
by next week we need to talk to AHS teachers to ask to borrow stuff (blacklight, etc.)
-Sign up to run stations: Leaders need to put stuff together, get directions from the Punjabi, come up with a superhero costume, will be contacted about specific duties
-Talk to elementary schools about renting stuff (Abner blogged about this)
-Decorating the cafeteria: the morning of or the night before (perhaps about 9:30 or 10?)
Shopping List for Decorating=crate paper, poster, balloons-red, blue, yellow
-need a floorplan for booths (electricity)
-Shopping on Sat around 12=Lisa, Brooks, the Target girls Jade and Morgan (discount!), Shelbs, Christine B.
needs to be done by Nov. 5!
get a tax exempt form, get reimbursed
-Games Construction Dates: Nov. 16 after school, Nov. 17 after 1, if we need more time then Nov. 20
Jeff Nadel and the Media Update
-the media has been contacted, waiting game
-will talk to Kelley R., at least two papers should come
-9news connections
Food: Shelbs and Ty
-no PB, eggs, nuts, they will be blogging on this topic!
Schools
-Sandburg and Twain got letters to send home, perhaps Wilder (Katy D.)
-Peabody and Franklin will put in newsletter
-250 flyers to distribute to businesses --will put up in mid.-Nov.
-Kings=if we can prove it's nonprofit, we can put signs up
Target and $$$$$$$
-more than happy to help, will know in a bout a week
-put Target logo on our shirts?
-Ashley L. and Dan will do the list of thank you's i.e. letters and gifts
-asking teachers to help! (Brooks is on it)
Nurses/MD's
-Joe has found a nurse, Mel has 2 doctors coming, Morgan's mom, Jade has connections
-we need 5-6 at most, 2 to distribute flu shots, others to speak or walk around?
-Ashley: working on form to put on Department of Health's website, they have sent info to us, disease control
-Lisa, Krista, Shamita: getting as many brochures as possible
-Mel will work on the FluMist thing!
Parade of Lights people=just help us set up and then leave

Alrighty, so a little update on the materials I was able to pick up from the Front Range Flu people. We now have a roll of stickers that say "I am a Junior Flu Fighter!", a couple posters that say the same thing, VERY FEW brochures, and I am guessing about 500 cards that say "Beat the Bug" with advice on the back. I have the form for the website information, so I will start filling that out, and Brooks, if I need any help from you I'll let you know.
That's about it for now. I'll keep you guys posted if anything new happens.
Is it possible to get flyers with info on this event to the local preschools in the area like Shepard of the Hills or to any of the local churches? Those of you that live in the area would have a better idea of area preschools.
Also, maybe Jeff N. can contact the newspapers and ask about how to pay for some advertisement of this event instead of them just coming on the day of to write up a story. Someone can create a small advertisment to have printed in the Littleton papers. If you need help with the contact on this, let me know.
Around nov 18th we need to put flyers in AHS teacher mailboxes and i will also send out an all staff email inviting all teachers who have small children. There are lots and they we will encourage them to invite neighbors/friends, etc.
I just found a great website that Ashley M and others may be able to use for posters, flyers, song ideas, etc. Hope you can use it.
