Week of October 16, 2007

Alright Guys, this is the gameplan for the week. Every week is getting more and more crucial and we are starting to crunch on time, so we have to get rolling right away...

Ashley: I just wanted to see how things were going with the health department website and Front Range Flu... Do we have things finalized with both of them? Post or email me an update.

Games: Now that you guys have shopping done, I would talk to Abner and see if you guys could start shopping this weekend for some of the basic stuff if not all of the stuff that you need...The sooner we get the shopping done the sooner and more time we have to get the building and set up of the games done. SO START PLANNING NOW, WE DONT WANT TO PROCRASTINATE IN THIS CATEGORY SPECIFICALLY! Also, create a volunteer list with teh exact number of volunteers you guys calculate to need. Not only to build the games but to be there and manage the stations during the carnival, plan out the entire day and run the number by me by Sunday so you guys can have the volunteer list to me by Monday so I can take them into Student Council on Tuesday. Remember you guys are the ones who are going to make this happen so keep up the creativity and the insane ideas and get them done, you guys are doing a great job.

Food: Make sure your list is finalized to the fullest and email a copy to myself as well as Abner to make sure that this is good with her. Estimate how we are going to manage cooking all of the food and keeping it fresh for December 1 (designating one food to different people...or what...). By next week try to have a schedule finalized and shopping list set so we can be prepared for that. Also, create a volunteer list and have it to me by MONDAY! This list should be aware of the number of volunteers that will be needed by you guys to not only cook the food but to also be there during the festival to run the foodstands. Run this number by me by Sunday so you guys know the exact number of slots...

Jade: I will be at Baylor until Saturday afternoon. I will write a letter to Target telling them why we desire their help and what we will be doing, etc., etc. I will get that to you by Saturday night for you to take in sometime over the weekend if possible...Also, can you and I meet with them about the shirts sometime soon so we can get them done in time for the carnival...Also mention that we were considering to design some kind of banner to hang in the cafeteria, and we would love to put their logo on it. Would they be interested?

Media: Our outside media situation is kind of crappy right now and we need to get on the ball for that. I attempted to contact some stations but it went unsuccessful. Could somebody who is on this blog a lot call Jeff and tell him to check this post out just because I want to get rolling on the media this week and Jeff has all of our connections...

Shelby: When are we going to distribute those letters exactly? Parker brought more copies over to me of both the letter and the flyer (250 each)...

Everyone: Start thinking of businesses you want to hit up. In the next couple weeks we are going to all go around and post 250 flyers around the city everywhere to get families and children aware of this event!!!

Next Week:
Run through schedule of festival, map out floorplan, devise exact timeline...
Compile volunteer lists
Committee Updates

Guys, keep checking back for more throughout the week as I might have other things to add. Also make sure your friends or other committee members are getting on this blog...comment please so I know you are getting on this! A simple hello is all i ask for.

Last thing: Somebody should should take to Katie Heid. about this website. That or shamita, I just want to get this blog posted on LINK Crew's and NHS's website for others to check out.

Thanks Guys.. Email me or post and q's.
